Technology instructions for the classroom
- ON: Press to turn on the projector/TV – light will stop flashing when the TV is finished warming up, afterwards, you may then select an input.
- OFF: Press to turn off the projector/TV – light will flash while warming down.
Inputs
- PC – In-room PC
- HDMI – Personal laptop (Panel HDMI)
- AirPlay – In-room Apple TV
- MiraCast – In-room MiraCast
Function Keys
- Pic Mute – Mutes video output for selected input (Button turns red when active; Press to mute, press again to unmute)
- Audio Mute – Mutes all audio for selected input (Button turns when active; reselect an input to unmute)
- Image Freeze – Freezes video image on projector/TV (Blinks red when active; Press to freeze, press again to unfreeze)
- Log in using your netID and netID password
- If you see the Windows background but none of the icons the PC is in extended mode. To switch to Duplicate mode press the Windows Key + P and select Duplicate from the pop-up menu.
- Turn ON Extron control panel (Allow 30 seconds for projector/TV to warm up before switching inputs)
- Located at the front panel, connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your laptop.
- Switch the input on the Extron control panel to “HDMI”
- If your windows laptop is not displaying, press W + P on your laptop. This will allow you to choose how your laptop outputs video. Select “Duplicate” to show video on both your laptop and on the TV.
- If your MacBook is not displaying, you may need to go into System Settings -> Display and then click the name of your display on the right, click the “Use as” pop-up menu, then choose duplicate or extended.
Before connecting, make sure to have Bluetooth enabled along with being connect to RUWireless Secure.

- Connect your device to RUWireless Secure and enable Bluetooth.
- Click on the Control Center in the menu bar, click the Screen Mirroring icon
- Select the classroom Apple TV from the list.
- Enter the passcode that appears on the screen.
To stop mirroring your device, open the Control Center, click Stop Mirroring, or click on the name of the room you’re connected to disconnect.

- Connect your device to RUWireless Secure and enable Bluetooth.
- Open Control Center:
- On iPhone X or later or iPad with iPadOS 13 or later: Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.
- On iPhone or earlier or iOS11 earlier: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.
- Tap Screen Mirroring
- Select the classroom Apple TV from the list.
- Enter the passcode that appears on the screen.
To stop mirroring your device, open the Control Center, tap Stop Mirroring, or tap on the name of the room you’re connected to disconnect.
Before connecting, make sure to have Bluetooth enabled.

- Hold down the Windows Key and press K
- From the pop-up menu, select the name of the room (as seen on screen).
- If this is your first time connecting to the room you will need to enter the passcode seen on the screen.
Please remember to return everything to its proper place. Turn OFF the projector/TV and logout of the computer when you finish!
Zoom instructions for the classroom
Using Zoom with the Classroom Camera and Microphone:
- Click on the Zoom icon on the desktop to open the application.
- Click on ‘Sign In’
- Click on ‘Sign in with SSO’
- Enter “rutgers” as the company domain, and then click ‘Continue’
- Next you will see the CAS Rutgers login screen. Login using your NetID and NetID password.
- If you are enrolled in Two-Step authentication, you will need to authenticate your login using DU
- You may need to redirect your browser back to Zoom by clicking on ‘Yes’
- You can now either:
- Start a meeting
- Join a meeting that you have the ID and password for
- Enter a scheduled meeting you have been invited to or created
- Click on ‘Join with Computer Audio’
Changing Audio Settings within the Meeting
- click on the arrow by the audio icon on the bottom menu.
- To access the microphone in the room, choose ‘Use System Setting (Axis Streaming Assistant)’ or ‘Microphone (Axis Streaming Assistant)’. You also have the option of using the computer microphone (if applicable) by selection ‘Microphone Array (Realtek High Definition Microphone)’.
- Speaker selection can vary depending on the classroom. Typically, the in-room computer speakers will be described as ‘Use System Settings’. However, you can change the speaker selection to the in-room technology be either selecting ‘Extron’ or the Display in the room, depending on what is available.
- Click on ‘Test Speaker & Microphone’ to generate a pop that will let test your selections.
Changing Video Settings within the Meeting
- Click on the arrow by the video icon by the bottom.
- You can choose the video source as either the classroom camera or webcam included in the classroom computer (if applicable). For the classroom camera, choose ‘AXIS P3367’.
