IT Project Management

The Waterfall methodology is a linear approach to project management that requires each phase to be completed before moving on to the next. Using Waterfall as a guide, the Project Management Office within the Office of Information Technology provides a common set of guidelines, techniques, and templates used to manage an application-related project.

The Agile methodology is another project management approach that emphasizes continuous collaboration and improvement. Teams follow an ongoing cycle of planning, executing, and evaluating. The OIT PMO has developed an overview document on the Agile framework, concentrating on how it may best serve the needs of the Rutgers community.
