Office of Information Technology

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is Rutgers’ enterprise IT office. OIT provides universitywide services and support and collaborates with department and unit IT professionals on projects and initiatives for the Rutgers community.

Divisions

The Office of Information Technology is divided into these divisions serving the university community. Meet the Executive Leadership Team.

Enterprise Applications and Research Computing

Enterprise Applications and Research Computing (EARC) develops and supports enterprise application software at Rutgers (including Cornerstone,  the myRutgers portalNetID, Rutgers Connect, and ScarletMail), and encompasses the university’s centralized research computing and data science resource. EARC units include Administrative Systems, Banner Administrative Services, Identity Management, Messaging and Collaboration Services, Middleware Application and Data Management Services, the Project Management Office, Student Systems and Application Consulting, and the Office of Advanced Research Computing.

Enterprise Infrastructure

Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) offers a wide range of IT expertise and services to operate and support the university’s network and computing infrastructures. Key areas of responsibility include data centers at various Rutgers locations, firewallshosting services, the Rutgers network, the Rutgers Virtual Private Network, Rutgers Active Directory, RUWirelessvoice services, Webex videoconferencing, and more.

OIT Finance and Administration

The OIT Finance and Administration division manages the Office of Information Technology budget and handles a variety of other areas, including billing, facilities, and OIT human resources.

Health Sciences IT

Health Sciences IT takes key steps to standardize and improve security, develop policies and procedures, and deliver efficient, reliable services to the health sciences community at Rutgers, working with various units within Rutgers Health, the health care education, research, and clinical division of the university.

Information Security Office

The Information Security Office establishes and manages IT policies, monitors compliance, and manages a comprehensive education and awareness program for IT risk and information security. The Information Security Office operates around four areas of focus known within the department as RISC—risk, incident detection, security, and compliance/training.
