The following five topics were presented during the “IT Lightning Talks” Rutgers IT Lecture Series event on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Microsoft Bookings

Microsoft Bookings is a scheduling tool that assists with booking appointments, and it is included with the Rutgers Connect Office 365 license. There are many ways to use Bookings in a university environment, and these options will be highlighted in the IT Lightning Talks.

Getting Started with Cloud Computing at Rutgers

The Enterprise Infrastructure Cloud team enables public cloud computing to the Rutgers University community. The team works to make public cloud computing resources easier to consume and are building common shared services for authentication and networking.

Form Follows Function: Implementing Good Design

Good design principles equally balance how something works and how something looks. Hear how the Data Insights Group (DiG) at Rutgers University chose an agile approach to problem-solving using Design Thinking – an iterative process used to better understand the user, redefine the problem and collectively identify alternative solutions.

Web Accessibility and the Office of IT Accessibility (OITA) Services

While web accessibility is a vital and always-relevant component to equitable design, the COVID-19 pandemic has further highlighted the need for digital and virtual experiences to be inclusive and accessible. The Office of IT Accessibility (OITA) is pleased to announce several impressive and meaningful projects and initiatives completed during the quarantine period that will only further improve Rutgers’ standing in the accessibility field.
