DNS and DHCP Services

Enterprise Infrastructure provides central Domain Name Services (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).

The Enterprise Infrastructure Network Operations Center and Network Architecture teams are responsible for service administration, acting as the hostmaster and service owner for Rutgers University and its associated DNS naming resources.

Customers may also elect to self-manage their host data in the university Infoblox system.

Services Provided

  • IP address and hostname assignment
  • Subdomain creation and deletion
  • DNS records administration for domain and subdomains
  • DNS Delegated Administrator group registration and member updates
  • DNS service delegation to authorized members of Delegated Administrator groups for management of DNS records in a subdomain
  • Host and subdomain name conflict escalation assistance to teams responsible for Rutgers branding and university communications
  • Add or remove university DHCP services


Eligibility: All departments are eligible
Cost: No cost for eligible departments

Call 848-445-7541, option 1, and follow the menu options to report a critical service outage or connect with on call support teams.

Monday–Friday: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.

On-Call Hours

Monday–Friday: 5 p.m–8:30 a.m.
Saturday, Sunday
