Need to remove a disruptive participant in your Zoom meeting? A new security enhancement from Zoom has been enabled and it allows hosts and co-hosts to temporarily pause a meeting to suspend that participant and avoid any further disruptions. If you are a host or co-host of a meeting that is being Zoombombed, follow these simple steps:
- Under the Security icon located on your Zoom meeting screen, click “Suspend Participant Activities.”
- After you click that button, all video, audio, in-meeting chat, annotation, screen sharing, and recording during that time will stop, and any Breakout Rooms will end.
- You will then be asked if you want to report a user from the meeting.
- Once you enter that information, click “Submit,” and the reported user will be removed.
- You can then resume your meeting by individually re-enabling the features you’d like to use.
This new security feature is available now on the Zoom desktop client for Mac, PC, and Linux. It will be available on the mobile app at a later date.
