Connect your game console or smart TV
Do you have an Xbox or Roku that needs to be connected in your residence hall? Register your devices through the new self-service tool. For instructions and details on permitted devices, view this how-to article. If you have devices that you connected in previous years, you will need to re-connect them to the RUIOT network. Get connected to Wi-Fi
Don’t get stuck on a loading screen. RUWireless Secure is available to all students across campus. Get step-by-step instructions to ensure that your Wi-Fi connection on your desktop, mobile device, and/or tablet is stable, secure, and constant.
Get the right technology
Every student should have the right technology to complete their coursework during their time at Rutgers. Check out kite+key, the official Rutgers tech store located across various university locations for power cords, headsets, calculators, monitors, Rutgers branded accessories, and more.
Make use of the Software Portal
Once buying a laptop is checked off your to-do list, browse through the University Software Portal for options like Microsoft Office and antivirus software that you can access for free. You can also access the Virtual Computer Lab from anywhere, which delivers apps from physical computer labs straight to your device.
Know what you can access on ScarletApps
Software applications are not limited to the software portal. Google apps like Gmail (ScarletMail), Google Docs, Google Calendar, and more are available to you. Get a head start on creating your email signature, implementing your favorite calendar layouts, and Google Doc walk-throughs so you don’t scramble during the semester when it’s time to share documents, emails, and meeting links.
