The Information Security Compliance and Training Program serves to meet the cybersecurity compliance, policy development, security awareness initiatives and training, communications, and consultative service needs of the Rutgers community. The Program ensures compliance and adherence with regulatory, statutory, and legal requirements that enable, not hinder, the academic, business, and research pursuits of the university.
The Cybersecurity Compliance Program goals are to provide guidance on regulatory compliance requirements, and to assist in the completion of required and time-sensitive document filings related to compliance mandates and reporting.
Based on the NIST SP 800-16 standard, the Employee Security Awareness Training Program offers cybersecurity awareness training and education to help the university community stay current with PCI DSS, GLBA, HIPAA, and other regulatory training requirements.
The Information Security Policy and Standards Management Program provides the foundation of IT governance for the university based on IT policies and standards which are identified, updated, and published using a project management methodology approach.
The Information Security Office offers additional services which include community engagement, communications programs, and consultative services.
