Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2021

We’ve all got a role to play in protecting our personal data—and Rutgers’ information assets. Learn what you can do to #BeCyberSmart.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month themes for 2021

Cybersecurity Awareness Month was launched by the National Cybersecurity Alliance and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in October 2004 to ensure Americans have the resources to be more secure online. Each year, a variety of institutions—from universities to non-profits to corporations—put the spotlight on cyber threats and how to avoid them. “All Americans can help increase awareness on cybersecurity best practices to reduce cyber risks,” President Biden said in a proclamation for Cybersecurity Awareness Month. “Whether you are at home, school, or the office—a few simple steps can help keep you and your online data safe and secure.”

2021’s overarching theme is “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” Find social media and other digital resources below to help spread the word.
