ITSM Tools Showcase puts ServiceNow in the spotlight

Rutgers IT staff, get ready—big things are coming to ServiceNow, and you can be among the first to see what’s next.

According to Jiancy Moreno-Lasselle, business analyst with the Rutgers Service Management Office, the ITSM Tools Showcase, scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, takes a tech-driven deep dive into everything ServiceNow. We spoke with Jiancy to get an inside look at the upcoming Spring event.

What can attendees look forward to?
This will be a more tech-oriented event as we share the many new enhancements coming to our primary ITSM tool, ServiceNow. The discussions will showcase how different groups enhance their service delivery by leveraging a broad array of the platform’s tools. It will also introduce the IT community to the Service Management Office’s next major initiatives.

Attendees will see demos of new areas, such as Asset Management and Platform Analytics, and participate in workshops on how to maximize ServiceNow use.

Why should an IT staff member who works with ServiceNow participate in this showcase?
To further refine their understanding of ServiceNow and gain hands-on experience with professionals from the Service Management Office. We aim to give them the opportunity to bring more value to their areas by discovering new tools and techniques within the system, learning about upcoming tools, and seeing how they could apply to their work. Whether you are an IT leader or an IT operations agent, there is something for everyone at this showcase.

How is this event different from the last event in the Fall, the ITSM Summit?
Last Fall, our IT Service Management Summit focused on the concept of service management itself, including ITSM best practices, such as those in ITIL, and how service management guides the way we do our work within the system.

The ITSM Tools Showcase on April 8 is for diving into the tools that make service management happen, primarily ServiceNow, and building that understanding of the platform. In short, the ITSM Summit was a celebration of the “Why?” and the Tools Showcase is a celebration of the “How?”

What are three things you’re most excited about on the agenda?
I am so excited about the big enhancements coming to ServiceNow. I won’t reveal too much—you’ll need to attend to learn more—but we’ll introduce a new component that could be a game-changer for ITSM at Rutgers. Platform Analytics is going to be great for any IT professional looking to gain more insight into their work.

Finally, I am really excited to showcase some of our ITSM champions and how they leverage ITSM tools, such as ServiceNow and Five9, to deliver value to Rutgers.
