Mobile device services
For eligible faculty and staff members with departmental approval, RUware provides mobile devices, service additions to devices, equipment activation, or orders for new lines, upgrades, and replacement devices. Troubleshooting services are also offered. RUware may be reached by phone at 973-972-6236.
Please review processes for new orders and changes to existing plans below.
New Orders
Follow these steps to request a mobile device, international service, accessories, or a consultation.
Step 1
Send RUware an email request for Verizon/AT&T consulting, plans, international service, or accessories.
Step 2
RUware receives your request. Staff will provide you with the appropriate form needed.
Step 3
If requesting a phone or accessories, complete the required form/process instructed by staff. Then provide Chart of Accounts/GL String or Project String.
Step 4
RUware will process your order with the carrier. After processing, your order will be sent out for delivery.
If you are requesting a new device or accessories, the following steps will be taken:
RBHS: All cell phone/accessory orders will go to the Technology Partner of your school.
All others (Rutgers legacy): All cell phone/accessory orders will go to the person requested.
Plan changes
Please ensure that you include your department head and budget officer when requesting plan changes.
Step 1

RUWare receives your request. Staff will reach out to carrier to process the requested changes.
Step 3
RUWare awaits confirmation from carrier. Then, a staff member will send you a confirmation and provide you with a ticket number for your reference.
