- Successfully migrated 2,000+ Moodle courses, completing the RBHS transition to Canvas
- Automated migration process implemented for all Sakai and Blackboard courses
- Over 3,500 Blackboard and Sakai course migrations completed, including entire course inventories for the School of Communication & Information and Rutgers Law School–Newark
- Launched new GradeSync feature, allowing instructors to directly submit final grades in Canvas
An inside look into the Office of IT Accessibility
What does a more effective digital landscape at Rutgers look like? Web page designs that are scannable by all members of the university, online courses that allow equal access to information, and videos that are appropriately captioned and feature audio descriptions. The Office of IT Accessibility (OITA) is aiming to create that world. Over the last fiscal year, OITA:
- Conducted more than 25 IT accessibility workshops
- Saw 500 percent increase in workshop attendance
- Provided accessibility expertise on dozens of projects including 2020 virtual commencements.

Virtual computer labs
Just weeks after the pandemic forced the closure of its physical computer labs, OIT opened “virtual computer labs” that allowed faculty, students, and staff the ability to access computer-lab PCs — and nearly all the vital software they contain — from any place, at any time. By fall semester, thousands of Rutgers community members relied on virtual computer labs to help them solve problems, conduct research, and more.
