OIT Help Desk has entered the chat

Tech support anywhere, anytime. That’s the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Help Desk’s user-first mindset. Now, in addition to phone calls, email, walk-in hours, and self-service documentation, a new live chat feature is available on the Rutgers IT Help portal, allowing Rutgers users to message with IT staff directly about their tech issues.

“We are excited to offer live chat with the goal of enhancing the overall IT support experience for the Rutgers community,” said Ana Verma, director in the Office of Information Technology. “This is another way for the Help Desk to meet faculty, staff, and students where they are in real-time when it comes to their tech needs.”

Using live chat is a flexible and convenient way to seek assistance, while complementing existing tech support options. Please note that to use the live chat feature, users must be logged into the Rutgers IT Help portal; therefore, it can’t be used for password resets or other password-related issues.
