Improvements to the Rutgers Software Portal

The following email announcement was sent to members of the Rutgers IT community on March 31, 2022.

Colleagues:

Over the past six months, several members of my team have been working with the IT communications team on major improvements to the Rutgers Software Portal. These efforts have been aimed at streamlining the interface and making the portal more user-friendly, especially for non-technical staff members, faculty, and students seeking products at the portal. The new, improved software portal is scheduled to go live on Monday, April 4, and we look forward to you using it and providing any feedback on the changes.

The changes include:

  • a streamlined, modern look and user interface
  • simplified product pages with user-friendly product descriptions
  • a news area with relevant software news
  • updated navigation and software categories
  • alerts from the Rutgers IT website

The portal will be unavailable for about an hour early on April 4 for these updates. A separate alert message will be posted at the Rutgers IT alerts webpage about this.
