Depending upon the type of image selected for the home page, it.rutgers.edu, three image versions might be necessary so that the image displays optimally for desktop, tablet, and mobile views. When editing the page you will see three separate fields for each image.

If there is a specific focus point on the image in relation to the overlay text, use these recommended specifications:

1. Desktop: 2880 X 1200 pixels (width x height)

2. Tablet: 1536 X 1000 pixels (width x height)

3. Mobile: 800 x 600 pixels (width x height)

A single image might suffice in some cases, especially where there isn’t a specific focus point. This image would simply be added to the “Slide background” field. Some experimentation might be necessary.

You may also adjust the field “Slide Background Position.” This allows you to position the background based on the image’s focus point. For example “Bottom Right” would lock the bottom right section in the viewport as you resize your screen.

When testing your preview page, start by refreshing your page in your browser at the narrowest size and then widen your browser display.
