OmniSOC summer internship
Are you a Rutgers student interested in getting hands-on cybersecurity experience?
If so, learn more about the 2024 summer internship program with OmniSOC, a shared cybersecurity operations center for higher education. Founded by Rutgers and four other Big Ten institutions (Indiana University, Northwestern University, Purdue University, and University of Nebraska–Lincoln), OmniSOC offers Rutgers students the opportunity to dive deep into the world of cybersecurity and gain real-world experience this summer.
This year, OmniSOC member universities are partnering with Elastic to offer interns a view into a large-scale security operations center (SOC) in the higher education space. The six-week hybrid format will provide students with a real-world understanding of cybersecurity networks and the security information and event management (SIEM) environment.
2024 OmniSOC internship program — June 17-July 26, 2024
This six-week paid program will have two segments. Accepted students will visit OmniSOC on the campus of Indiana University–Bloomington for the first three weeks. During the last three weeks, interns from the same school will work together on a final project led by each school’s security office. Depending on each security office’s preference, interns may work at their home campus location or remotely.
OmniSOC and its partners launched this Big Ten internship program in 2019 and is now accepting applications for the summer of 2024. This is an opportunity for interested Rutgers students to:
- Expand their ability to identify and mitigate cybersecurity threats
- Gain actual experience in network security
- Collaborate with university professors to complete a final project
- Be better equipped for a career in cybersecurity
- Work alongside students from other Big Ten universities
- Receive a stipend
The application deadline for this program is Sunday, March 3. To view additional information or submit an application, please visit the OmniSOC website.
