Accessibility Purchasing Form

Rutgers University is committed to providing an accessible, usable, and integrated experience for all people. To that end, it is important that electronic information technology (EIT) comply with the standards set forth in the Web Accessibility Policy (i) WCAG 2.0 AA for Web-based products; and (ii) section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, for non-web- based products. You can view the University’s Web Accessibility Policy, much of which translates to other electronic information in addition to the web.

Those at Rutgers University involved in purchasing Electronic Information Technology (EIT) for the university should consider the accessibility of such products or services. Units should understand the impact that EIT purchasing and decision-making has on individuals with disabilities in and outside the university.

The IT Accessibility Team will assist units in determining the accessibility of the product, reviewing VPATS and other accessibility documentation, including accessibility language in the contract/terms of service, creating product accessibility roadmaps, and more.

Please ask the vendor to supply any and all accessibility documentation. Such documentation can include any and/or all of the following but not limited to:

  • Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT)
  • Accessibility Testing Results / Evaluations
  • Product Accessibility Roadmaps / Timelines
  • Known Accessibility Issues

To begin the process, please fill out the form below to the best of your ability.

For any questions and concerns, please email accessibility@rutgers.edu .
