The Service Management Office is excited to announce the launch of a new IT Service Management (ITSM) microcredentialing program available to Rutgers IT staff.
Developed by the Service Management Office, two new courses – ITSM Fundamentals and ITSM Continual Improvement Training – aim to strengthen the understanding and application of ITSM principles for IT staff. Both microcredentials have been formally approved by Rutgers University’s Academic Affairs Microcredential Committee.

Course details
- ITSM Fundamentals
- Introduces core ITSM concepts and how they can be applied in an operational environment.
- No pre-requisite is required.
- Delivered in person over two days.
- ITSM Continual Improvement Training
- Focuses on day-to-day operational improvement and collaboration in ITSM practice areas.
- Prerequisite: ITIL4 Foundation or ITSM Fundamentals.
- Two cohorts will be offered: Change Enablement and Incident Management.
