R Data Wrangling with dplyr, tidyr, readr, and more
March 5: 4–5:30 p.m.
This session reviews major packages within the tidyverse that relate to the essential data handling steps required before (and during) data analysis.
Data Analysis 2 (statistical tests, regression, sampling, bootstrap, and more + comparison with Python)
March 6: 3–4:30 p.m.
This workshop reviews statistical tests, regression, sampling and bootstrap methods, and more. The focus here is on implementing statistics using R, with a comparison to Python techniques for accomplishing similar tasks.
Data Science Basics: Introduction to Github and Website Hosting
March 10: 10–11:30 a.m.
Create your own website for a personal project or portfolio using Github to host it. Participants will learn basic HTML and use of Git. No previous coding experience is needed.
Data-Driven Decision Making: A/B Testing and Statistical Hypothesis Testing
March 10: 2–3:30 p.m.
This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to implement A/B testing and statistical hypothesis testing for data-driven decision-making.
R Graphics with ggplot2
March 13: 3–4:30 p.m.
The ggplot2 package from the tidyverse provides extensive and flexible graphical capabilities within a consistent framework. This session introduces the main features of ggplot2.
University policies/resources available
March 20: 10–11 a.m.
This training will cover federal ADA laws, university policies, and resources for supporting students, staff, and faculty with disabilities. Targeted at IT professionals and customer service roles, OIT-Accessibility services and how to access additional support will be explored.

This workshop will provide students with an overview of the main features of three of the most popular citation management software programs–RefWorks and Zotero.

Struggling with citations? Learn how Refworks and other citation management software can make the citation process painless.
Data Publication 2 (publishing to data repositories and creating R packages)
April 2: 2–3:30 p.m.
This workshop first reviews repositories for data publication such as Dataverse, ICPSR, OSF, Zenodo, and more. Then turns to a detailed discussion of building R packages.
Fundamentals of SAS: Statistical Analysis Software
April 2: 3–4 p.m.
This workshop will teach students how to explore and access SAS data sets, import and export non-SAS file formats, and manipulate data with formulas and assignment statements.

Sensus Access/Reformatting your documents

This hands-on training session will help you learn how to make documents more accessible. Sensus Access for converting PDFs and ways to reformat documents using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat will be explored. By the end, you’ll be equipped to create more readable and inclusive documents.
