New IT web accessibility training now available

Interested in learning how to produce and manage accessible content? The IT Accessibility team is pleased to announce a redesigned, self-paced training service available to all Rutgers individuals. The accessibility training system that Rutgers is partnering with, Deque University, features a repository of self-paced training courses that you can complete on your own time.

During this training opportunity, participants will:

  • Independently explore and gain expertise in various areas of IT accessibility
  • Be given a categorical list of training materials along with a curriculum of courses based on their job role
  • Have the opportunity to learn about topics such as accessible design and development, file accessibility, industry research and best practices, mobile development accessibility, and more

Completing Deque University courses can also prepare participants for Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) and Web Accessibility (WAS) certifications. CPAAC and WAS certifications are highly sought after in the accessibility and development fields.

Interested individuals should complete the signup form and then an IT Accessibility staff member will work with you to decide which curriculum is the best fit.

Please note the IT Accessibility team will still host monthly live and virtual trainings throughout the year to complement the Deque University courses.

If you have any questions or would like additional details on Deque University or IT Accessibility trainings, please contact Preston Radtke at rpr77@oit.rutgers.edu.
