Starting February 6, Rutgers faculty and instructional staff will have the opportunity to partake in a new workshop series geared toward incorporating the many creative tools of Adobe into their academic work. The Adobe Academic Essentials Series offers eight workshops spanning a variety of topics and are designed to connect faculty with the world of Adobe regardless of experience level.
The series is a hands-on resource that explores foundational skills and methods for sharing knowledge across academic modalities using Adobe, including data visualization and storytelling, publishing academic work, and utilizing podcasts and videos.
The first workshop features a one-hour introductory session on February 6 and will be followed by a series of 90-minute focused sessions starting on February 13 and continuing weekly through March 26. The schedule is listed below:
● February 13: Create Graphs, Graphics and Data Visualization for Academics (featuring Adobe Express and Adobe Illustrator)
● February 20: Publish Academic Papers, Journals and Essays (featuring Adobe Express and Adobe InDesign)
● February 27: Create Academic Portfolios and Resumes (featuring Adobe Express, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Portfolio)
● March 5: Productivity with Acrobat and Adobe Express for Academics (featuring Adobe Express and Adobe Acrobat)
● March 12: Storytelling with Video for Academics (featuring Adobe Express and Adobe Premiere Pro)
● March 19: Digital Imaging with Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Express for Academics (featuring Adobe Express and Adobe Photoshop)
● March 26: Podcasting for Academics (featuring Adobe Express and Adobe Audition)
The workshops are created by educators for educators and are an excellent way for faculty to elevate their academic work with creativity using Adobe tools. Participants will earn official Adobe digital badges upon completion of the course material as well as a certificate for 1.5 hours of professional development.
Speed and ease of use are the key themes throughout the series, featuring the new Adobe Express — getting faculty and instructional staff started with a much friendlier learning curve.
Interested individuals should check out the series page to learn more information and to sign up for a workshop session.
