How do I log in to Webex?


Personal Webex Account

  1. Navigate to the Rutgers Webex page.
  2. In the upper right-hand corner, select Sign in.
  3. Enter your Webex account email address.
    • By default this email is your Official Rutgers email address and varies based on what you have individually set your official email address to be. To verify which email format to use, go to the Manage Email Addresses page and use the email listed in the Official Rutgers Email Address box. 
    • If you manually changed the email address for your Webex account through the Webex settings page, please use that email address. 
    • If you are unsure what email address to use, please contact your Rutgers Connect Delegated Administrator
  4. Click Sign In
  5. On the Rutgers CAS screen, log in using your NetID and NetID password.

Shared Webex Service Account

You must already be a delegate for the service account. If you are in need of a Webex service account or need to be granted access to one, please contact your Rutgers Connect Delegated Administrator

  1. Navigate to the Rutgers Webex page.
  2. In the upper right-hand corner, select Sign in.
  3. Enter the email address formatted as: [serviceaccountname]@rutgers.edu
  4. Click Sign In
  5. On the Rutgers CAS screen, log in using the following credentials:
    • Username: [serviceaccountname]+netid
      • Example: srv-oit-test+abc123
    • Password: Your NetID Password

Error Messages logging into Shared Webex Service Account

"You are not authorized to impersonate the indicated user at this time."

You may receive this message for the following reasons: 

"Please use the same email. The email used to authenticate was different than the email provided by the identity provider."

This may occur if you have previously logged into Rutgers CAS using your NetID in the same browser that you are trying to access the service account on. Any cached credentials on the browser may prevent you from properly signing into the service account using the required username noted above. Try using a different browser, clearing the cookies/cache on the browser you are currently using, or use an incognito/private window to log into the service account.
