Setting up Touch ID for Duo


Touch ID should only be setup for Duo as an secondary method of verification. Please ensure you have another method setup in addition to Touch ID.

In order to use Touch ID with Duo, make sure you have the following:

  1. On your computer, go to the Two-factor authentication set-up and management page. Enter your NetID username and password to login.
  2. Click the Other options link on the authentication page to view your list of available authentication methods.

  3. Select the Manage devices choice at the end of the list to enter the device management portal.

       

  4. Choose an authentication method and complete two-factor authentication to begin adding Touch ID.
  5. After approving a Duo authentication request, you can see all your registered devices in the device management portal. Click Add a device to begin.
  6. Choose Touch ID.

         Select an Option. Touch ID, Duo Mobile, Security Key, Phone Number.

  7. You will then get a message with instructions on enabling Touch ID, click Continue.

         Touch ID. When prompted, use the fingerprint sensor and allow to use Touch ID.

  8. A pop-up window will appear asking you to tap the Touch ID sensor to enroll your MacBook.

  9. You will then get a confirmation indicating that the Touch ID has been added. Select Continue

         Added Touch ID. You can now use Touch ID to log in with Duo on this device.
