Additional free software available for remote use

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has been working with vendors to get students, faculty and staff the software they need to work effectively from home in response to COVID-19. Here is a list of products that are newly available for free or have temporary free licenses.

Adobe Creative Cloud
Creative Cloud is a suite of software applications for graphic design, video editing, web development and photography. Programs include Photoshop (photo editing), Illustrator (graphic design), Dreamweaver (website development), Premiere Pro (video editing) and Acrobat (PDF editing).

Instructions: To request access, add the item to your cart and check out. Once your temporary subscription has been activated, you will receive an email from the University Software Portal. Please note that subscription activation may take up to 2 business days.

Stata MP2 V16
Stata is statistical software that enables users to analyze, manage, and produce graphical visualizations of data. It is primarily used to examine data patterns by researchers in the fields of economics, biomedicine, and political science.

SPSS Statistics Premium w/Amos V26
SPSS is used by various kinds of researchers for complex statistical data analysis. The SPSS software package was created for the management and statistical analysis of social science data.

Maple
Maple is a symbolic and numeric computing environment and a multi-paradigm programming language that also covers other aspects of technical computing, including visualization, data analysis, matrix computation, and connectivity.

Instructions: Students are directed to the Maplesoft Web Store to use a promotional code to download Maple 2020 Student Edition for a three-month term at no cost.

SAS
SAS is a software suite that can mine, alter, manage, and retrieve data from a variety of sources and perform statistical analysis on it. SAS provides a graphical point-and-click user interface for non-technical users and more advanced options through the SAS language.

Free remote access for faculty, staff and students is now available via Amarel. Access via Amarel is recommended, as currently it takes at least three hours to download SAS from the University Software Portal.

Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (ADTT)
These tools include Access, Project, and Visio. Microsoft Access is an information management tool that helps you store information for reference, reporting, and analysis. Microsoft Project is project management software. Microsoft Visio is software for drawing a variety of diagrams, including flowcharts, org charts, building plans, data flow diagrams, and more.
