Before attempting to configure Outlook for ScarletMail, be sure you have activated your ScarletMail account.
You'll need to first enable IMAP on your ScarletMail account.
- Go to Gmail and login with your ScarletMail email formatted as netid@scarletmail.rutgers.edu
- Once logged in, in the top right, click the Settings (gear icon) then select See all settings.
- Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
- In the "IMAP access" section, select Enable IMAP.
- Click Save Changes.
Once IMAP is enabled you can begin to configure Outlook.
- Open the Microsoft Outlook application on your Mac.
- On the top toolbar go to the Tools dropdown menu, then click Accounts.
- Click the + icon, then Add Account.
- Enter your ScarletMail email in the format of netid@scarletmail.rutgers.edu then click Continue.
- Click Continue again.
- A new window will open and prompt you to sign into your account.
- Login with your NetID and NetID password.
- Select Allow to grant Outlook access to your ScarletMail account.
- If prompted, allow the browser to open and redirect you back to Microsoft Outlook.
- You'll see a confirmation that your account has been added. Click Done to finish the setup.
