Windows fully manual setup
- Right click on the ethernet/Wi-Fi icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen and select Open Network & Internet settings.
- Click on Network and Sharing Center.
- Click on Set up a new connection or network
- Select Manually connect to a wireless network.
- Enter the following information for the RUWireless Secure network:
- Network name: RUWireless Secure
- Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
- Encryption type: AES (option grayed out)
- Security Key: (option grayed out)
- Check the box next to Start this connection automatically.
- Check the box next to Connect even if the network is not broadcasting.
- Click on Next.
- Click on Change connection settings.
- Navigate to the tab labeled Security and configure your settings with the information below:
- Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
- Encryption type: AES
- Choose Microsoft: EAP-TTLS from the dropdown menu beneath Choose a network authentication method.
- Check the box next to Remember my credentials for this connection each time I’m logged on.
- Click on Settings next to the dropdown menu.
- Uncheck the box next to Enable identity privacy.
- Click on the circle next to Select a non-EAP method for authentication.
- Choose Unencrypted password (PAP) from the dropdown menu.
- Click OK.
- Click on Advanced settings.
- Check the box next to Specify authentication mode.
- Choose User authentication from the dropdown menu.
- Click on Save credentials next to the dropdown menu.
- Enter your NetID in the User name box.
- Enter your NetID password in the Password box.
- Click OK.
- Click OK (if available) or close out of all of the remaining open windows.
- Select the Ethernet/Wi-Fi icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, make sure the Wi-Fi option is turned on, then select RUWireless Secure from available networks and select Connect.
