Setting up Apple mail and Apple calendar for Rutgers Connect


  1. Click on the Apple Icon on the top left and select System Preferences.

  2. From the Preferences menu, click Internet Accounts.
  3. If this is the first account you’re creating in Internet Accounts, click Exchange.
  4. If you’ve previously created an email account for a different email address, in the lower-left corner of the Accounts dialog box, click + to add an account, and then click Exchange.
  5. Enter a display name for your account in the Name field, and your NetID@domain.rutgers.edu address in the Email Address field.
  6. If you are using macOS Catalina or later, you will see a dialogue box asking if you want to use Microsoft to login.
  7. Choose Sign In and login with your NetID and password. You will now be set up.

If you are using an older version of macOS use the steps below.

  1. On the Internet Accounts Exchange pane, use the following settings and then click Sign In.
    • Name: Your Name
    • Email Address Field: Please enter your Sign In address. This will be in the format of netid@domain.rutgers.edu.
      • If you would like confirmation on what your Rutgers Connect sign-in information is, visit the  NetID Management Page and click Manage Email Addresses. Your sign in name can be found in the Rutgers Connect Account Information section.
    • Password: Your Rutgers NetID password.

  2. Click Done or Sign In to complete the setup.
