Rutgers has enhanced its previous campus cyberinfrastructure by implementing a friction-free, software defined network (SDN) based connection across and between campuses. This next-generation research network not only allows the building distributed-data repositories and advanced computing across the Rutgers campuses, but also improves the speed and quality of service (QoS) when connecting into the national cyberinfrastructure ecosystem, e.g., XSEDE, <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opensciencegrid.org\/\">Open Science Grid<\/a> (OSG), <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudlab.us\/\">CloudLab<\/a>, and Global Environment for Network Innovations (<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.fabric-testbed.net\/\">FABRIC<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Core features<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><i class=\"fa-solid fa-database\" style=\"color: #cc0033;\"><\/i> NSF and university-funded solution to build a data driven frictionless dedicated research network (NSF Award #1659232, &#8220;CICNet &#8211; The One-Rutgers Next Generation Data Driven Research Network\u201d).<\/p>\n<p><i class=\"fa-solid fa-chart-network\" style=\"color: #cc0033;\"><\/i> Connects all Rutgers campuses, enabling productive research education with next generation network services.<\/p>\n<p><i class=\"fa-solid fa-network-wired\" style=\"color: #cc0033;\"><\/i> Original funding coupled each campus at 40+ Gb\/s backbone and field upgradeable to 100Gb\/s.
