Human Capital Management (HCM) refers to a software application used to manage administrative data and processes for human resources. Template-Based Hire (TBH) in the HCM system is an electronic process that allows department preparers to enter and submit data to hire a new employee or add another assignment to an existing employee\u2019s record in the system.<\/p>\n

Below is the Template-Based Hire process for student workers:<\/p>\n

  1. Visit my.rutgers.edu\/portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Select NetID<\/strong>, enter the NetID and Password.<\/li>\n
  3. Select PeopleSoft Management<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Then select Workforce Administration<\/strong>\u00a0and from the drop-down menu select\u00a0Template-Based Hire<\/strong>.

  5. \u00a0Select\u00a0Template-Based Hire<\/strong>.

  6. Select\u00a0Class 5_Student<\/strong>\u00a0(Student Hourly).

  7. Job Effective Date<\/strong>\u00a0(Employee start date, please match date with the I-9 and the E-Verify).

  8. National ID<\/strong>\u00a0will be Employee SSN.

  9. Follow all the tabs and fill out the required information. Tabs are:
    \n\u2713 Personal Information
    \n\u2713 Citizenship Visa
    \n\u2713 Job Information (Make sure to attach the offer letter)
    \n\u2713 Template Status (Template Complete \u2013 Select \u201cYes\u201d)<\/li>\n
  10. The data entered into the template is routed for review and approval by the department HR Approver. After 24 hours, you will be able to log in to HCM\/PeopleSoft).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n
