What happened to Immunet?

Immunet Antivirus, which has been Rutgers' recommended antivirus solution for personal devices, will be discontinuing its services on January 1, 2024. After this date, the software will no longer be connected to Immunet Cloud servers, leaving your device unprotected. As such, it is recommended that you switch to Windows Defender before the end of this year.

Current Recommendations

Personal Devices

For personal devices, you have the option to continue using Immunet until the end of the year; at which time it is recommended to use Windows Defender. University-Owned Equipment

If you are using a device owned by the university, please consult with your Department's IT support for guidance on antivirus solutions.
